Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced that funding is available for teachers in grades 1-4 to integrate microgreens kits into their curriculum. "The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is seeking teachers interested in bringing this STEM learning opportunity into their classrooms," said Goehring. "Students will learn about plants, how they grow and how microgreens are used in basic recipes."

Teachers interested in receiving the kits can visit https://www.ndda.nd.gov/microgreens for more information and to apply. Applications must be submitted electronically by Thursday, February 13, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by February 14, 2025. Teachers who previously received the hydroponic tower garden grant are not eligible to apply.

For inquiries, contact Local Foods Marketing Specialist Jenna Nieters at 701-328-2659 or jnieters@nd.gov.

Teachers have until April 1, 2025, to use the kits and educate their students.
