The North Dakota Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with the North Dakota Agriculture Association, has scheduled a series of safety training sessions on anhydrous ammonia across the state.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring emphasized the importance of these sessions by stating, “Annual documented safety training is required for any person handling, transferring, transporting or otherwise working with anhydrous ammonia at storage facilities.” He assured that attendees will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the course.
These sessions will cover various topics such as chemical properties and health hazards associated with anhydrous ammonia, as well as facility and nurse tank care, inspection, maintenance, and regulatory updates.
The schedule for the training sessions is as follows (all times are Central Time unless specified otherwise):
- March 4: Dickinson – TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 1 p.m. Mountain Time
- March 5: Minot – Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- March 25: Devils Lake – Spirit Lake Casino at 1 p.m.
- March 26: Valley City – AmericInn by Wyndham at 9:30 a.m.
- March 27: Fargo – Homewood Suites at 9:30 a.m.
