Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak recently supported two resolutions to repeal energy regulations introduced by the current administration. Fedorchak, a Republican from North Dakota, cast votes favoring H.J. Res. 24 and H.J. Res. 75, which aim to overturn regulations she describes as "burdensome."

According to Fedorchak, for many years federal efficiency standards have managed to find a balance between energy conservation and practicality. However, she criticized the Biden administration for what she views as excessive regulatory actions. Fedorchak stated, "These excessive Biden administration regulations will cost businesses billions of dollars to replace perfectly good refrigeration equipment."

H.J. Res. 24, put forward by Rep. Stephanie Bice from Oklahoma, challenges a Department of Energy rule regarding energy efficiency standards on walk-in coolers and freezers. Fedorchak criticized these standards as neither feasible nor economically justified.

H.J. Res. 75, proposed by Texas Representative Craig Goldman, seeks to overturn a similar rule affecting commercial refrigeration units. Fedorchak argues that this rule could increase costs and disrupt supply chains without providing noticeable energy savings. The Department of Energy has estimated that it could take 94 years to recover the costs related to this rule.

Fedorchak concluded by expressing House Republicans' commitment to finding "common sense solutions" for "hardworking Americans."
