Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota has expressed her support for President Trump's new trade agreement with the United Kingdom. She emphasized that the deal would benefit farmers, ranchers, and energy producers in her state by expanding markets and ensuring fair terms.
"This is great news for North Dakota and exactly what our producers need—expanded markets, fair terms, and real results," Fedorchak stated. She highlighted that North Dakota produces some of the best products globally and now has greater access to one of the world's largest markets. "President Trump is committed to negotiating better deals for our farmers and ranchers. I applaud that commitment and look forward to more announcements like this to come."
The trade agreement is set to open over $5 billion in new export opportunities for American producers. This includes more than $700 million in ethanol exports and an additional $250 million in agricultural products such as beef. The UK will also remove discriminatory non-tariff barriers that have previously limited U.S. goods' access.
President Trump remarked on the significance of the deal: "The deal includes billions of dollars of increased market access for American exports, especially in agriculture, dramatically increasing access for American beef, ethanol, and virtually all of the products produced by our great farmers." He added that the agreement ensures streamlined customs procedures, improves competitiveness for U.S. firms, and strengthens key supply chains across sectors like agriculture, aerospace, and pharmaceuticals.
Fedorchak concluded with a focus on future legislative efforts: "This is the kind of leadership that puts America’s producers first. I’ll keep pushing for a strong Farm Bill that builds on this momentum and opens even more doors for American agriculture."
