The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is organizing a public input meeting on Thursday, August 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. to discuss proposed improvements to U.S. Highway 2 in Devils Lake. The meeting will take place at High Plains Equipment, located at 8373 US Highway 2.

The format of the event will be an open house, with a formal presentation scheduled for 5 p.m. The planned project covers a range of updates along Highway 2 from Elks Drive to the Hefti Rest Area. Proposed work includes milling and overlaying the highway surface, realigning intersections, extending frontage roads, adding turn lanes and improving access points, installing destination lighting, overlaying the Hefti Rest Area parking lot, and resurfacing specific frontage roads.

Representatives from both NDDOT and Civil Science, Inc. will attend the meeting to answer questions and address concerns from the public.

For those unable to attend in person, written comments can be submitted by mail or email until September 12. Comments should reference “Public Input Meeting - PCN 23110” in the heading or subject line and be sent to Chris Maples, Consultant Project Manager at 222 34th Street West, Williston, ND 58801 or via email at cmaples@civilscience.com.

NDDOT has stated: "The NDDOT will consider every request for reasonable accommodation to provide an accessible meeting facility or other accommodation for people with disabilities. Language interpretation and translation services will be available upon request for this meeting."
