Starting September 2, eastbound traffic on Highway 2 in Williston will be limited to one lane at the south end of the Highway 2/26th Street intersection due to ongoing Phase 2 construction. The restriction will remain in place through Saturday, September 6.
During this period, no truck traffic is allowed in the affected area. Vehicles longer than 20 feet must use alternate routes as a 20-foot length restriction is being enforced. The North Dakota Department of Transportation states these measures are necessary for safe and efficient completion of manhole and intersection work.
"We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure project continues," said the department.
Oversized vehicles are advised not to attempt passage through the restricted area, as they may not be able to safely navigate the intersection and could cause delays or hazards.
Motorists are encouraged to expect delays, follow posted detours, and plan accordingly.
