ND Dept of Emergency Services issued the following announcement on March 26.
Ninety percent of wildfires are caused by humans. Last year, the #2 cause of preventable fires was equipment use.
Keep a shovel and fire extinguisher ready to use.
Don’t drive or park your vehicle on dry grass, as hot exhaust pipes can start fires.
When towing any kind of trailer, be sure your chains are not dragging. Dragging chains can cause sparks which can also start a wildfire.
