The United States Senate has confirmed Lee Zeldin as the 17th Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a vote of 56 to 42. The confirmation took place in Washington, D.C.
U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer from North Dakota, who is a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, expressed his support for Zeldin's nomination. In a statement, he said, “Lee is primed and ready to slash the mountains of backwards regulations at the EPA to restore primacy of states and common sense.” He further added, “I look forward to working with him as he brings some sanity back to EPA and makes the bureaucracy work for the people it purportedly serves.”
Zeldin's confirmation marks a significant appointment within the EPA as he steps into his new role.
