The United States Senate has confirmed Doug Collins as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs with a vote of 77 to 23.
U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer, who worked alongside Collins in the House of Representatives for six years, introduced him at his confirmation hearing. Cramer praised the bipartisan approval of Collins' nomination by the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee and expressed confidence in his ability to lead.
Cramer also wrote an op-ed in the Washington Examiner emphasizing Collins' dedication to veterans. "Doug puts our veterans first and fights for their access to timely and quality local healthcare," he stated. "His commitment to the law and servant leadership is exactly what the Department of Veterans Affairs needs to stay on mission. I look forward to working with Doug in his new position."
