North Dakota Game and Fish to host spring advisory board meetings statewide

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department Advisory Board has scheduled a series of public meetings this spring at eight locations throughout the state. These events are designed to offer citizens a platform to discuss concerns and questions about fish and wildlife with district advisors and agency personnel.

A notable session, the district 7 meeting in Bismarck, will be available for live streaming on the department’s website, gf.nd.gov.

District 2's meeting will occur on April 14 at 7 p.m. at the Wildlife Club in Velva, hosted by the North Dakota Fur Hunters and Trappers Association. Rick Tischaefer (701-460-1055) is the contact, and Travis Leier of Velva is the advisory board member.

Also on April 14 at 7 p.m., District 8 will meet at the Eagles Club in Dickinson, hosted by Roughrider Archers. Rob Brooks of Rhame, who is both the contact and advisory board member, can be reached at 701-440-8952.

For District 1, the meeting will be on April 15 at 7 p.m. at the McKenzie County Sportsman’s Club in Watford City. Watford City Droptine Chapter of Mule Deer Foundation will host, with Beau Wisness of Keene as contact and advisory board member (701-421-8814).

District 3’s session is set for April 15 at 7 p.m., held at Memorial Building in Cando. Hosted by Dakota Rifle and Pistol Club, the contact is Duane Holien (701-303-0798), while Edward Dosch from Devils Lake is the advisory board member.

Meetings for District 5 and District 6 will both be on April 21 at 7 p.m. District 5’s meeting at Hughes Shelter in Wahpeton is hosted by Red River Area Sportsman Club, with Greg Gerou (701-840-0188) as contact and Doug Madsen of Harwood as advisory board member. Meanwhile, District 6 participants will convene at North Dakota Farmers Union in Jamestown, hosted by Stutsman County Wildlife Club, with Cody Sand (701-535-1071) as both the contact and advisory board member.

District 4’s meeting is on April 22 at 7 p.m. at the Fire Department in Cavalier, hosted by Pembina County and Area Sportsman’s Club. Contact is Roger Furstenau (701-265-2960) and Karissa Daws of Michigan is the advisory board member.

The District 7 meeting will also be on April 22 at 7 p.m. at the Game and Fish Main Office in Bismarck. This meeting is hosted by North Dakota Bowhunters Association. Contact person is Steve Goroski (701-391-2665).

The department encourages public engagement through these meetings, enhancing communication between the community and wildlife management officials.
