The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a total of $662,696 in grants for airport infrastructure projects at several North Dakota airports. The funding comes from the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program, which was created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to support airport modernization and safety improvements.
The funds will be allocated to three municipal airport authorities in the state. Harvey Municipal Airport Authority will receive $363,000 for the construction of a 5,625 square foot hangar intended for aircraft storage. Stanley Municipal Airport Authority is set to receive $209,446 to expand its existing West Apron by an additional 778 square yards. Hillsboro Municipal Airport Authority will get $90,250 for building an 11,250 square foot hangar for aircraft storage.
According to the FAA, "The AIG Program was established by the fully-paid-for Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to provide airports with funding for modernization and safety projects. Since its creation, airports in North Dakota have received over $50 million in program funding."
These latest awards are part of ongoing federal efforts to improve airport facilities across North Dakota.
