Senator John Hoeven has commented on the recent Senate vote regarding a short-term continuing resolution (CR) intended to fund the government through November 21. The resolution, described as "clean," was voted down by Senate Democrats.
Hoeven stated, “This is a clean short-term CR that will prevent a government shutdown and keep government funded at current levels through November 21. We have three of the appropriations bills ready to go to conference and this CR will provide time to do that and help get us back to regular order.” He added, “The House has already approved this legislation and the President supports it. Senate Democrats should join with us on this short-term CR so we can keep government open and continue working on the appropriations bills.”
The proposed measure aimed to give lawmakers additional time to negotiate full-year spending bills while maintaining current funding levels.
