North Dakota Forest Service issued the following announcement.
Happy National #ArborDay! 150 years ago, J. Sterling Morton proposed a day to celebrate, plant, and nurture trees. Today, communities across the nation hold Arbor Day celebrations to recognize those efforts and teach people of all ages about the benefits of trees.
Today, our Community Forestry Assistant, Beth Peske, presented at City of Lincoln North Dakota’s Arbor Day celebration, the first in North Dakota for the season! 4th and 5th grade students at Lincoln Elementary got to take home American Plum trees, provided by Lincoln's Tree Board members.
