The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has sent a letter to U.S. Representative Julie Fedorchak and the U.S. House of Representatives expressing support for H.J. Res. 105, a resolution aimed at repealing a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rule that restricts energy development in North Dakota.
Don Larson, NFIB North Dakota State Director, stated, “Small business owners regularly cite the energy costs as a top business concern. Repealing this rule will provide the opportunity for more energy production in North Dakota, which will create jobs, lower energy costs, and invigorate the economy. NFIB supports repealing this burdensome rule, and we appreciate Rep. Fedorchak’s leadership on this issue.”
A recent NFIB survey found that the cost of various fuels is considered one of the most significant challenges for small businesses across the country. Additionally, an NFIB member ballot showed that 88% of its members believe Congress should work to streamline regulations to help increase production and transportation of oil and other energy sources in the United States.
