Senator John Hoeven has joined efforts to reintroduce legislation aimed at reducing Iran's connections with China and countering its support for terrorist groups, including Hamas. The legislative initiative, known as the Iran China Accountability Act, is led by Senator Marsha Blackburn.

Senator Hoeven emphasized the need for a firm stance against both Iran and China, stating, "Our legislation will ensure that we hold these two adversaries accountable for their destabilizing activities, support for terrorism and human rights abuses." He further stressed that due to Iran's actions against military forces and allies like Israel, as well as its backing of terrorist organizations and collaboration with China, it is imperative to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The proposed legislation seeks to block taxpayer funds from supporting a nuclear agreement with Iran unless it receives approval from two-thirds of the Senate.

Senator Blackburn also voiced concerns about a potential nuclear deal with Iran, saying, "Iran would love nothing more than to enter into another nuclear deal that props up their terrorist activity and also benefits their fellow New Axis of Evil partner - Communist China." She called for accountability from the Biden administration regarding the Iranian regime's actions, highlighting human rights abuses committed by both Iran and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as well as violence enacted by Hamas against Israel.

The bill has garnered additional support from Senators Kevin Cramer, Marco Rubio, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Ted Cruz, Thom Tillis, and Rick Scott. Further details on the legislation are available through provided resources.
