Bruce Kreft and Brian Hosek have been appointed to division chief positions at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. Kreft has been promoted to conservation and communications chief following the retirement of Greg Link, who served the agency for 45 years.
Kreft, originally from Towner, holds a zoology degree from North Dakota State University. He began his career with Game and Fish as a fisheries technician from 1989-1990. He then served as an assistant Missouri River biologist from 1990-1992, central district fisheries biologist from 1992-2000, and conservation biologist from 2000-2023.
Link's career with Game and Fish started in 1980 as a seasonal employee. In 2011, he took over leadership of the conservation and communications division. This division is responsible for informing, educating, and promoting fish and wildlife-related opportunities; managing nongame species and species of conservation priority; and consulting with developers to mitigate impacts on fish and wildlife resources.
Brian Hosek has been named chief of administrative services after Kim Kary announced her retirement following two decades with the agency. Hosek previously held the position of business operations manager for a long period.
