U.S. Senator John Hoeven has expressed his support following the Senate's confirmation of Doug Collins as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Hoeven emphasized Collins' background, stating, “Congratulations to our newest Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Doug Collins.” He highlighted Collins' previous roles as an Air Force Colonel and chaplain, which he believes have equipped him for this leadership position.

Hoeven noted the importance of Collins' commitment to veterans' welfare, saying, “We appreciate his commitment to ensure that our veterans receive the recognition, benefits and high quality care they have earned.” During their meeting, Collins also pledged to assist in advancing upgrades for Fargo National Cemetery. Hoeven concluded by acknowledging Collins' understanding of service and expressed eagerness to collaborate with him: “He understands what it means to serve, and we look forward to working with him to ensure that our nation keeps its promises to our veterans.”
