On June 2, 2025, at approximately 10:38 am, a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Department crossed into Morton County along Highway 6. The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) Troopers and Morton County Sheriff’s Deputies joined the pursuit to assist.

The NDHP Troopers assumed primary responsibility for the chase as the vehicle attempted to evade law enforcement by traveling on rural roads and off-road areas in Morton County. An NDHP aircraft also monitored the situation from above.

The pursuit concluded when the vehicle stopped near 44th Street and 27th Avenue in Morton County. This location is along the Heart River, west/southwest of Mandan. Three occupants fled on foot from the vehicle. Officers conducted a search on foot and by air but were unable to locate the suspects, leading to the discontinuation of the search.

Authorities advise that if anyone observes these suspects, they should not approach them but instead call 911 immediately. The vehicle involved is described as a 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. The suspects are described as follows: one male wearing a brown shirt, another male either wearing a red shirt or shirtless, and one female wearing a white shirt and black pants.

For further information regarding this incident, contact the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office at (701)854-3481.
