Goehring announces nearly $690K in funding through agriculture diversification program

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced that three projects will receive funding from the Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund. The total amount awarded is $687,694, following approval at the ADD quarterly meeting held on July 23 in Medora, North Dakota.

The ADD Fund is managed by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. Its purpose is to help new or expanding value-added agriculture businesses that show financial feasibility and have the potential to improve industry profitability, create jobs, and contribute to North Dakota’s economic growth. Eligible projects include those related to agricultural product manufacturing, animal production facilities, commodity processing facilities, and food production and processing facilities. Feed or pet food processing operations may also qualify for support.

Northland Sires Inc. received $250,000 to develop a bull-test facility aimed at serving livestock producers in the Upper Midwest. For more information about this project, Derek Jungels can be contacted at 701-238-4362.

Dakota SAO, LLP was awarded $250,000 to reconfigure swine facilities for breeding gilts and improving biosecurity measures. Eric Peterson is available for inquiries at 515-854-9820.

Applications for funding consideration at the next ADD meeting are due by October 1, 2025.
