City of Dickinson ND issued the following announcement.
Citizen Briefing - April 15, 2022
Community Members,
The City of Dickinson will be lifting the Travel Advisory at noon today, but we would like to emphasize the use of caution while driving as the streets are still icy and snow equipment operations are still ongoing throughout the city. If you choose to venture out and encounter snow removal equipment, we ask that you please stay back at least 100’ to ensure your safety as well as to allow the crews to work safely and efficiently.
Snow plows have been working throughout the evening and the early morning on removing snow from the downtown area as well as the residential neighborhoods. We hope to get through all residential areas by late this evening. Please be patient with the snow crews as they are currently working to ensure at least basic access to each of the neighborhoods before returning at a later time to clear more of the snow.
Snow crews have been working on clearing snow in the Downtown areas since 5 a.m. and have been making progress to ensure access to Downtown businesses.
The City of Dickinson recognizes the extreme amount of snow that has fallen during this snowstorm and will not be enforcing the sidewalk snow removal policy. However, if you have a fire hydrant on your property, we ask that you please work on clearing the snow around the hydrant to ensure it is accessible in the event of an emergency.
Thank you
Dustin Dassinger
Interim City Administrator
