Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) and Noridian Healthcare Solutions, LLC (Noridian) have been awarded the Philly Goat Award for the No. 1 Most Generous Workplace by United Way of Cass-Clay at the 2025 Community Celebration & Annual Meeting. This accolade acknowledges their philanthropy and community support.
BCBSND, Noridian, and many of their 3,200 employees have pledged support to United Way through initiatives such as May Day baskets, Boo baskets, the Eat United food truck feed, and the Battle for the North internal fundraising effort. Their partnership with United Way aims to address social drivers of health by tackling community issues like hunger, homelessness, education, and employment.
Dan Conrad, President and CEO of BCBSND, stated, "Community has always been part of our story. It is at the heart of who we are, and we care deeply about the people who make it special. That goes hand-in-hand with our partnership with United Way. Together, we found creative ways to support families, improve well-being, and step up when our communities need it. We are thankful for the efforts of our team and for the incredible work of United Way in addressing economic stability, education, safe environments, and access to health care."
JoVal Wettlaufer, BCBSND wellness advisor, remarked, “This award is special because it shows how our collective efforts can make such a significant impact. I love being part of a company that values community support.”
The partnership enables BCBSND, Noridian, and United Way to channel resources back into communities, enhancing the quality of life in North Dakota. "This collaboration allows us to reinvest in the communities where our members live and work,” Conrad said. "This partnership is a testament to our dedication to making our state a better place for everyone."
BCBSND also received third place on the list of most engaged workplaces. BCBSND extends congratulations to United Way of Cass Clay and the community for a successful campaign.
The United Way of Cass-Clay is instrumental in addressing critical needs and fostering change in the community. BCBSND expresses its commitment to continue supporting United Way and the community, as noted by Conrad: “We are honored to be part of these impactful efforts and look forward to continuing our support for United Way and the community.”
BCBSND was established in 1940 to provide affordable health care access across North Dakota and operates under the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
