The North Dakota Department of Transportation will initiate the Interstate 94/Red River Structure Repair Project next week. The project will encompass structural repairs, bridge deck overlay installations, and guardrail replacements aimed at improving safety, enhancing traffic flow, and extending the bridge's lifespan, which connects Fargo, North Dakota to Moorhead, Minnesota. Motorists can expect traffic disruptions until the project's completion in October 2025.
Starting Monday, April 28, the right lane of westbound I-94 will undergo overnight closures, and the westbound entrance ramp from 8th Street in Moorhead will be reduced to a single lane. These measures will remain in place through May 2025 to facilitate the installation of a temporary metering system and traffic barriers.
"The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout the work zone."
Further traffic impacts are anticipated as the project continues. For the latest updates, visit www.dot.nd.gov/I-94RedRiver.
