U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer recently visited the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, where he met with two North Dakota midshipmen he nominated. Midshipman Loren Steinberg and Midshipman Rebecca Van Vleet were among the nominees chosen by Cramer to receive education and training at one of the nation's five service academies, which includes the Naval Academy.
Senator Cramer expressed his pride in the midshipmen, stating, “What a privilege to have breakfast this morning with North Dakota Midshipmen Loren Steinberg and Rebecca Van Vleet and the Deputy Commandant of Midshipmen, Captain David S. Forman. They make North Dakota proud with their hard work, service, and dedication." Cramer further noted that Midshipman Steinberg guided him around the Naval Academy before he met with U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent Vice Admiral Yvette M. Davids to discuss the academy's role in preparing future Navy leaders.
The United States Naval Academy is known for its rigorous educational programs tailored to develop the next generation of leaders in the Navy. The academy, along with other service academies, attracts many of North Dakota's brightest and most committed individuals.
