HHS seeks public input on Medicaid waiver amendment for disability services

The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services is seeking public input on a draft amendment to the Medicaid waiver. This amendment aims to assist individuals with physical disabilities in living at home within their communities. The draft can be accessed online at hhs.nd.gov/waivers, and copies are available upon request.

Comments regarding the waiver can be sent to the North Dakota Health and Human Services – Adult and Aging Services Section. Submissions can be made via mail to 1237 W. Divide Ave., Suite 6, Bismarck, N.D., 58501, email at dhshcbs@nd.gov, or by calling toll-free at 855-462-5465 or 711 (TTY).

Residents of North Dakota seeking access to Medicaid waiver services or other in-home community-based long-term support can reach out to the state's Aging and Disability Resource Link. They offer assistance via a toll-free number at 855-462-5465, TTY services at 711, email carechoice@nd.gov, or through their online database carechoice.nd.assistguide.net.

Following the conclusion of the public comment period, the waiver will be submitted to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It is anticipated that based on CMS review timelines, the amendment will take effect on January 1, 2026.
