The City of Jamestown is organizing a public input meeting to discuss planned improvements for 4th Avenue East, covering the area from 10th Street Southeast to 5th Street Northeast. The meeting will take place on Monday, October 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at City Hall, located at 102 3rd Ave. SE in Jamestown.

The project involves a range of upgrades along a 13-block corridor. Planned work includes full-depth pavement reconstruction between 2nd Street Southeast and 2nd Street Northeast, milling and overlaying other segments, concrete repairs within the BNSF viaduct, and installation of new ADA-compliant curb ramps. Signal replacements are scheduled for key intersections such as the one at 4th Avenue East and 10th Street Southeast. Viaduct improvements will focus on enhancing visibility and safety with new end treatments.

Parking configurations may also change on the reconstructed block between 2nd Street Southeast and 2nd Street Northeast, with options to maintain diagonal parking or convert it to parallel parking. Additional upgrades include sidewalk reconstruction, curb and gutter repair, and improved drainage with a proposed catch basin.

Representatives from both the City of Jamestown and Interstate Engineering will be present at the open house format meeting to answer questions and address concerns from residents.

Project materials can be accessed online at www.jamestownnd.gov/333/Public-Input-Meetings.

Those unable to attend may submit written comments by November 11, either by mail or email. Comments should reference “Public Input Meeting - PCN 24446” in the subject line or letter heading and be sent to Ben Aaseth, Project Engineer at Interstate Engineering.

The city states: "The City of Jamestown will consider every request for reasonable accommodation to provide an accessible meeting facility or other accommodation for people with disabilities. Language interpretation and translations services will be available upon request for this meeting."
