North Dakota Game and Fish Department schedules fall public advisory board meetings statewide

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department Advisory Board has scheduled a series of public meetings this fall at eight locations throughout the state. The meetings are intended to give residents an opportunity to discuss fish and wildlife issues with their district advisors and department staff.

According to the department, more information for districts 6 and 7 will be posted on its website as it becomes available.

The schedule for the meetings is as follows:

- District 5, covering Cass, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele, and Traill counties, will meet on October 28 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center in Buffalo. The event is hosted by the Buffalo Wildlife Club. Dalen Grieger is listed as the contact person, and Doug Madsen of Harwood serves as the advisory board member.

- District 2, which includes Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, and Ward counties, will hold its meeting on October 29 at 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall in Kenmare. Goosefest is hosting this meeting; Scott Ness is the contact person; Travis Leier of Velva is the advisory board member.

- District 7 (Burleigh, Emmons, Grant, Kidder, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Oliver, Sheridan and Sioux counties) meets November 3 at 7 p.m. at Turtle Lake’s Wildlife Club. The Turtle Lake Wildlife Club hosts this session; Jody Sommer of Mandan serves both as contact and advisory board member.

- District 3 (Benson, Cavalier, Eddy, Ramsey, Rolette and Towner counties) will gather November 5 at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake. Cory Everson is listed as contact; Edward Dosch of Devils Lake is advisory board member.

- District 4 (Grand Forks, Nelson, Pembina and Walsh counties) meets November 12 at American Legion in Fordville with Dakota Prairie Wildlife Club hosting; Lynn Baier is contact; Karissa Daws of Michigan is advisory board member.

- District 1 (Divide, McKenzie and Williams counties) holds its meeting November 17 at McKenzie County Sportsman’s Club in Watford City; Nathan Hovde of Alexander acts as both contact person and advisory board member.

- Details for Districts 6 (Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, Logan LaMoure McIntosh Stutsman Wells) on November 19 and District 8 (Adams Billings Bowman Dunn Golden Valley Hettinger Slope Stark) on November 24 are yet to be announced.

"These public meetings provide citizens with an opportunity to discuss fish and wildlife issues and ask questions of their district advisors and agency personnel," according to a statement from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
