Funding is now open for research projects focused on honey bee health and management in North Dakota. Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced that the North Dakota Department of Agriculture is accepting grant proposals aimed at addressing key concerns within the honey bee industry.
“The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is seeking grant proposals for research into finding practical solutions to honey bee health and management concerns,” Goehring said.
Researchers can submit proposals targeting one or more of five specific areas: Varroa mites, nutrition, genetics and breeding, Tropilaelaps mites, and Nosema. The department will consider funding partial projects as well as extensions of previously supported work.
Multiple grants may be awarded through this program. Complete application guidelines are available on the NDDA website at https://www.ndda.nd.gov/honey-bee-research-and-promotion-grants. The deadline for submitting applications is December 1, 2025, at 4 p.m. Central Time.
