Traffic changes and ramp closure announced for Memorial Highway in Mandan

Two changes to traffic patterns will take place soon on Memorial Highway in Mandan as part of a construction project, according to the North Dakota Department of Transportation.

The intersection at 40th Avenue Southeast and Memorial Highway is set to reopen this afternoon with a temporary configuration. The department stated that traffic will shift to its winter alignment next week.

A temporary ramp closure is scheduled for Monday, November 17, beginning at 6 a.m., affecting the Interstate 194 eastbound exit onto Memorial Highway into Mandan. This closure is necessary for concrete paving work at the 46th Avenue and Memorial Highway exit ramp. The work is expected to continue until 2 p.m.

Drivers are advised to use alternative routes during this period. Detour options include Exit 153 for Mandan Avenue or the McKenzie Drive exit off Bismarck Expressway.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation issued a reminder: "The North Dakota Department of Transportation reminds motorists to drive safely and stay alert in work zones."
