Grand Forks sees 5.7% decrease in non-farm payroll employees since last year

Werehiring05

The number of employees on non-farm payrolls in March in the Grand Forks metropolitan statistical area was 50,900, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

This is a 5.7 percent decrease since last March when Grand Forks reported 54,000 workers on non-farm payrolls.

Statistics were compiled from reports from the civilian labor force and unemployment data, both of which heavily relied on household surveys. The data is not seasonally adjusted.

Employment data is gleaned from an establishment survey that measures non-farm employment, hours and earnings by industry. The data is also based on payroll jobs and such factors as where the establishments are located.

Overall, North Dakota reported 408.3 thousand million people employed on non-farm payrolls in March.
