ICYMI: Members of the North Dakota National Guard along with a regional coordinator from NDDES in June traveled to the West African nation of Ghana to collaborate in a large-scale training exercise. Joe Lies, who was on his ninth trip to Ghana, spent two weeks with North Dakota’s Guardsmen instructing Ghanaian emergency personnel on Incident Command System principles followed by four tactical exercises in which participants responded to a simulated earthquake scenario. The event was initiated through North Dakota’s State Partnership Program and was the largest bilateral exercise in the program’s 18-year existence.
You can read more about the exercise later this month in the June-July 2022 of NDDES Insights.
