BISMARCK – U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, announced the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is awarding $130,162,815 to the state of North Dakota.
These funds will be distributed from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program which was established through the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The state will use these allocated funds to expand access for states and territories to achieve affordable, reliable high-speed internet service by 2030.
“High-Speed broadband access across our state is critical for North Dakotans. This allocation of $130 million from NTIA will provide our state with improved access to telehealth services, learning pathways for students, and e-commerce opportunities for local business,” said Senator Cramer. “These funds present a new opportunity to provide a high level of access and opportunity to several of our more rural areas.”
