The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has announced a contract worth $22,019,171 awarded to HSG Park Joint Venture 2, LLC. The contract is for the dredging of the spillway approach at Garrison Dam near Riverdale. The project is scheduled for completion by August 27, 2027.

Garrison Dam, constructed in 1953, is one of six projects on the mainstem of the upper Missouri River and boasts the largest reservoir storage capacity among all USACE projects nationwide. Together with dams on tributaries of the river, these projects aim to mitigate downstream flooding risks along both the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. This system of dams also serves multiple purposes including hydropower generation, water supply management, water quality maintenance, irrigation support, fish and wildlife conservation efforts, navigation facilitation, and recreational activities.
