North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced that several of its offices will open later than usual today, December 19, due to hazardous weather and travel conditions. Offices in Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot, and Williston, as well as outreach offices in Grafton, Rolla, and Valley City, will delay their opening until 10 a.m. Central Time. However, HHS offices in Bismarck, Dickinson, and Fargo will maintain their regular business hours.
For those experiencing a behavioral health crisis during this time, the department advises contacting the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for immediate assistance.
In the Devils Lake region, the Lake Region Human Service Center (LRHSC), along with regional vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in Devils Lake and LRHSC’s Rolla outreach office, will open at 10 a.m.
The Grand Forks region's Northeast Human Service Center (NEHSC) and associated vocational rehabilitation and child support offices in Grand Forks will also have delayed openings. The NEHSC’s Grafton outreach office is included in this delay. Notably, the Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton remains unaffected by these changes.
Similarly affected are the South Central Human Service Center (SCHSC) in Jamestown along with its vocational rehabilitation and child support offices. The SCHSC’s Valley City outreach office will also start operations at 10 a.m. Meanwhile, the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown continues to operate without any change to its schedule.
